Boys Basketball Dec. 2, 2025 Roundup:

District 13-6A boys basketball opened Tuesday with a slate of close, momentum-setting games that immediately hinted at a tightly contested season ahead.

Grand Oaks, last year’s district champion, began its title defense with a 62-54 road victory at The Woodlands, showing poise late to secure the win. College Park delivered the night’s biggest dramatics as guard Tyson Forrest buried a three-pointer with two seconds left in overtime to complete a 60-59 thriller against Conroe, giving first-year head coach Kenneth Stephens his opening district win. Oak Ridge added a 56-40 victory over Cleveland, and Willis outlasted Caney Creek in a double overtime shootout, 88-81.

With tight margins and late-game heroics across the board, the district race already appears wide open — and fans now have an early showdown circled on December 9, when 1-0 College Park travels to face 1-0 Oak Ridge in a matchup that could give one contender an early edge in the 13-6A race.
