Senior earns top recognition for academic excellence and leadership in STEM
Spring, Texas — Grand Oaks High School recognized Carson Winter as the Class of 2025 valedictorian during its commencement ceremony on Tuesday, May 16. Carson was introduced on stage by Principal James “Buddy” Bush, who recounted Carson’s many achievements before inviting Conroe ISD Superintendent Dr. Curtis Null to present a special commemorative plaque.

Carson has been a standout student throughout his four years at Grand Oaks. In addition to excelling academically, he was a four-year member of the school’s tennis program and played an active role in the Computer Science Honor Society and UIL academics. Carson earned 83 medals over his high school career, including two state gold medals in Computer Science and Team Mathematics.
He is both a National Merit Finalist and a National Merit Scholar, honors that reflect years of focused academic effort. Carson will attend the University of Texas at Austin this fall as the school’s highest-ranking graduate, earning a scholarship to join the Turing Scholars Honors Program in Computer Science. His future plans include furthering research in artificial intelligence and game programming.
Carson’s family stood and applauded as he received his plaque from Dr. Null. The moment marked not just the end of a successful high school journey, but the beginning of a promising future.
