Shenandoah, Texas — College Park High School honored its Class of 2025 top 15% graduates Wednesday at the annual luncheon held at the Conroe ISD Jett Center at Woodforest Bank Stadium.
Families, faculty, and Conroe ISD leaders gathered to recognize the achievements of students ranked in the top 15% of the graduating class. Among the honorees were students from the Academy of Science and Technology, the school’s prestigious science- and technology-focused magnet program.
The program opened with a welcome from Principal Robert MacFarlane, followed by the Presentation of Colors and Pledges to the Flags by the College Park MCJROTC. Valedictorian Matthew Yu and Salutatorian Victoria Yu also addressed the audience, adding student voices to the celebration.
Graduating seniors were recognized in three distinction levels: Summa Cum Laude (top 0–5%, meaning “highest praise”), Magna Cum Laude (top 5–10%, meaning “great praise”), and Cum Laude (top 10–15%, meaning “with praise”). These honors will also be acknowledged at graduation, where students will wear stoles signifying their academic standing.
The event began with breakfast for students and their families, creating a warm, celebratory atmosphere. College Park counselors and administrators introduced students in groups, calling each name to the stage where they received certificates listing their honor distinction, intended college, and future plans. Principal MacFarlane personally greeted each honoree with a handshake and congratulations.
In his closing remarks, MacFarlane praised the graduates’ dedication: “Today we recognize an outstanding group of men and women and their remarkable commitment to excellence. You have obtained distinctions that will remain with you for a lifetime, including admission to some of the nation’s finest universities.”
As they exited the Jett Center, students received personalized graduation yard signs displaying their earned academic honors, giving families a meaningful way to showcase their student’s success at home.
The Top 15 Honor Graduate Luncheon remains a cherished tradition at College Park, reflecting the school’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and student success.
