THE WOODLANDS, Texas — College Park High School welcomed 19 new members to the 2026-27 Reveliers Dance Team during an induction ceremony Saturday, Aug. 15, in the school auditorium.

The ceremony formally welcomed the Reveliers’ 22nd line and introduced new members to traditions connecting them with the students who came before them. Each new Revelier received a traditional wrap skirt and a first sunflower during the program.

The Reveliers, also known as the Revs, are College Park High School’s dance team. They represent the school through dance, performance and school spirit at football games, pep rallies, competitions and special events.

Reveliers Director Alison Lowrey told the new members that being part of the team extends beyond performing, emphasizing confidence, character, artistry, resilience and the relationships built among teammates.

“Teamwork, simply put, is less me and more we,” Lowrey said. She encouraged members to support one another and make the most of the year they will share as one team.

The sunflower presented to each new member symbolizes loyalty, joy, positivity, strength and hope. Lowrey encouraged the new Reveliers to “stand tall, stay bright” and lift others around them.

Coach Lindsay Hollis, a former Revelier, explained the symbolism of the Black Watch plaid wrap skirt. One of the most frequently worn pieces of the Reveliers wardrobe, the skirt represents how team members watch out for and support one another. Pins earned by Reveliers are also worn on the skirt.

The 2026-27 freshman members are Haley Adams, Valery Amortegui, Arianna Chetey, Savannah Davila, Maggie Dawson, Harper Henshaw, Isabel Loreto, Riley Matlak, Cambry Mattern, Hadley McGrath, Caroline Rickabaugh, Sofia Rolong, Niva Varia and Annie Zheng.

Sophomore members are Grace Griffiths and Aza Qalbani. Junior members are Addison Kelley, a manager; Defne Selcen, a manager; and Shamika Zade.

Throughout the ceremony, senior Reveliers introduced each new member individually, sharing stories about their dance backgrounds, interests and journeys to becoming members of the team.

Reveliers Major Elise Travis closed the ceremony by encouraging the new members to take in their experiences, have fun and make connections with their teammates. She also spoke about the Reveliers’ big-sister tradition and the relationships between new members and their senior teammates.

Travis reminded the new members that their time together would move quickly and encouraged them to make memories along the way. She also thanked parents for supporting their daughters and trusting the team’s student leaders before calling the Reveliers together for a group photograph.

Following the ceremony, Reveliers posed outside College Park High School for photographs with teammates and friends.

With the induction complete, the Revs now move into the performance portion of their season. Their first halftime performance is scheduled for College Park’s season-opening football game at Iowa Colony at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27. College Park’s first home football game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, against Cy-Fair.

That home game will give College Park students, families and community members their first opportunity of the football season to see the 2026-27 Revs perform at home.
