Conroe Boys Cross Country Places Fourth at Huntsville Invitational

Preston Jones led three varsity medalists as the Tigers recorded their third top-four finish of the season.

HUNTSVILLE, Texas — The Conroe High School boys cross-country team placed fourth in the varsity division Friday at the Huntsville Invitational. The Tigers scored 138 points to record their third top-four finish of the season.
Preston Jones led Conroe with a sixth-place finish in 16 minutes, 18.49 seconds. Aodel Alvarez placed 11th in 16:43.35, while Zion Pearson finished 20th in 17:10.71. All three runners earned medals.

Conroe’s JV team placed third with 93 points. Blake Lantagne earned the bronze medal with a time of 17:47.31. Jorge Perez placed seventh in 18:53.81, followed by Bryant Wood in eighth at 19:02.25. All three were medalists.
In the freshman two-mile race, Cason White placed 16th in 13:05.28, and Eros Portillo finished 19th in 13:30.27. Both earned medals.
