7:42 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2025
Shenandoah, Texas — The Conroe Independent School District Board of Trustees on Tuesday approved the appointment of Nina N. Norman as the next principal of Oak Ridge High School during its regular meeting at the Jett Center at Woodforest Bank Stadium.

Norman, a 13-year educator with experience across multiple grade levels and school settings, was formally named to the position during the Dec. 16 board meeting. She replaces Shawn Almond, who served as Oak Ridge High School principal beginning in 2022 and retired in December.
The board’s action follows Norman’s most recent role as principal of Washington High School in Conroe ISD. Her professional background includes campus and district instructional leadership, with a focus on teaching, curriculum, and instructional coaching.
Norman holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Stephen F. Austin State University, a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership. Her classroom experience includes teaching social studies for grades 7 through 11.

In administrative roles, Norman has served as associate principal for curriculum and instruction at Conroe High School and as assistant principal and dean of instruction at Huntsville Intermediate School. She has also worked as both a campus-based and district instructional coach.
During the meeting, board members and district leadership highlighted Norman’s emphasis on relationships, student support, and campus culture. Superintendent David Vinson, Ed.D., described her as a leader who prioritizes connection with students and staff and brings a people-centered approach to campus leadership.
Norman addressed the board following the vote, thanking trustees for their confidence and acknowledging her family and professional mentors. She spoke about Oak Ridge High School’s tradition and community, noting her readiness to serve students, staff, families, and community partners.
Oak Ridge High School serves students in the Oak Ridge feeder zone and is one of Conroe ISD’s comprehensive high schools in South Montgomery County.
