Board votes unanimously to appoint longtime educator and Marine Corps veteran to interim leadership role
Monday, May 19, 2025, 7:00 p.m.
CONROE, TEXAS — The Conroe ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously Monday to name Ted Landry as interim superintendent following a special board meeting to review candidates for the position.

Landry, who currently serves as principal of The Woodlands High School, was selected in a 7-0 vote after the board reviewed a list of 12 candidates. The meeting was called specifically to fill the interim role ahead of a search for a permanent replacement.
Landry, a 30-year public education veteran, was recently appointed deputy superintendent of Humble ISD and was set to begin that role in June, according to Humble ISD. Before his career in education, Landry served in the United States Marine Corps.
The move follows Superintendent Dr. Curtis Null being named the lone finalist for the superintendent role at Lake Travis ISD on May 1. Null is expected to finalize his transition later this month.
The Conroe ISD board will meet again on Wednesday, May 29 at 1 p.m. to interview and hire a search firm to assist in the selection of a permanent superintendent.
