The Woodlands, TX - On a bright Saturday morning, students from various high schools across The Woodlands gathered at the Maverick Conference Center at Lone Star College for the 2024 Interact Leadership Training. Organized by the District 5910 Rotary Club of The Woodlands, the event aimed to equip future Interact officers with the skills and knowledge necessary to lead their clubs effectively.
The session began with a light breakfast, where students had the chance to meet peers from other schools in the Houston area. Participants engaged in team-building exercises that fostered collaboration and camaraderie. As the day progressed, they attended workshops focusing on improving organizational and communication skills, crucial for their roles in the Interact community.
Mrs. Theresa Wagaman, past president of the Rotary, emphasized the importance of the event, stating, “Today’s purpose is to create a foundation that each and every member of our Interact clubs can build upon, making their clubs stronger, more fun, more engaging, and more inviting.”
LaVette Bell, Interact sponsor for College Park High School, remarked, “It’s a great opportunity to add leadership tools to their toolboxes that will equip them to lead throughout the year and life.”
Interact presidents like Allana Trinidad from College Park High School and Madeline Meissner from The Woodlands High School expressed their enthusiasm for the new school year, noting the value of exchanging ideas and learning more about their roles.
