Houston native and Charlie’s Angels star will meet fans Thursday, Oct. 8, for a book signing and photo opportunity at Village Books.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas — Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026 — Actress, entrepreneur and Houston native Jaclyn Smith will return to the Houston area Thursday for an appearance in The Woodlands, meeting fans at Village Books from 6 to 8 p.m.

Smith will sign copies of her new memoir, I Once Knew a Guy Named Charlie, and take photos with guests during the Oct. 8 event at Village Books, 9955 Woodlands Parkway, Suite F. Guests who want to participate in the signing and photo line are asked to purchase the

book through Village Books, with advance purchases recommended.

Best known as Kelly Garrett on the television phenomenon Charlie’s Angels, Smith was the only original Angel to remain with the series for all five seasons. But her new memoir reaches well beyond the show that made her an international star.

I Once Knew a Guy Named Charlie traces Smith’s journey from her Texas beginnings and early career as a dancer and commercial actress through the creation and success of Charlie’s Angels. She also shares stories about her longtime friendships with co-stars Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Cheryl Ladd, along with the life and career she built after the series.

That next chapter included an extensive television and film career as well as a move into business. Smith became an early pioneer in celebrity-branded fashion, launching a successful apparel collection in the 1980s and continuing to build her business career alongside her acting work. The memoir also touches on family, love and her experience facing breast cancer.

Published Sept. 8 by Gallery Books, the 320-page memoir has since become a New York Times bestseller.

For local readers, Thursday’s appearance brings an especially Texas connection to the story. Smith was born in Houston, and now readers in The Woodlands will have the opportunity to hear from — and meet — the woman behind one of television’s most recognizable characters as she tells the story of what came before, during and long after Charlie’s Angels.

EVENT INFORMATION: Jaclyn Smith Book Signing & Photo Opportunity — Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, from 6–8 p.m. at Village Books, 9955 Woodlands Parkway, Suite F, The Woodlands. Advance book purchase is recommended for guests planning to enter the signing and photo line
