Families, faculty, and friends gathered to honor Class of 2026 inductees
Wednesday, April 16, 2025 — 6:00 p.m.
The Woodlands, Texas – College Park High School inducted 130 juniors into the National Honor Society on Wednesday evening during a formal ceremony that celebrated students for their academic achievement, service, leadership, and character.
Established as one of the most meaningful traditions at College Park, the NHS induction brought together families, faculty, and administrators in support of the Class of 2026 honorees. Opening remarks were delivered by NHS President Evan White, followed by an address from history teacher Jay Clements, who has served as the NHS faculty advisor since 2014.
Students walked across the stage to receive their National Honor Society membership certificates, which were signed by Principal Robert MacFarlane and presented individually by him. As each name was announced, inductees signed the official College Park NHS book and posed for a commemorative photo.
In an interview, Mr. Clements reflected on the personal significance of the evening. “You see these students every day in class, but when they walk across that stage, it’s different. They’re dressed up, they’re being recognized for more than a single grade or assignment — it’s for years of effort.”
The ceremony also featured student-led segments that outlined the four pillars of the National Honor Society: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Presentations were given by Recording Secretary Taggart Hensley, Treasurer Logan Clark, Vice President Jessica Bird, and Corresponding Secretary Ashutosh Sahu.
The new members will officially begin their responsibilities on May 1, when officer elections for the 2025–26 school year will take place. The outgoing officers will then hand over leadership in what Clements calls “a passing of the baton.”
