A Theatrical Triumph at The John Cooper School
The John Cooper School's production of 'Shrek The Musical' has set a new standard for school-level performances in the community. Based on the beloved DreamWorks Animation motion picture and the book by William Steig, this enchanting musical comedy brought together students' talents in a way that captivated audiences across four sold-out shows from November 10th to 12th, 2023.
Held at the Glen Performing Arts Center - Main Stage, each performance was a testimony to the hard work and dedication of the cast and crew. Leading the cast, Max Stachkowiak and Harrison Kulis shared the role of Shrek, bringing a unique blend of humor and heart to the character. Seline Dalkiran shone as Adult Fiona, showcasing both her acting prowess and vocal talent. Carlos Calderon's portrayal of Donkey was particularly noteworthy, providing the perfect comedic timing and energy that the character demands.
Taylor Birdsall's versatility was on full display in the dual roles of Pinocchio and a Duloc Dancer, while Corbin Meredith’s portrayal of Lord Farquaad was both hilarious and theatrically impressive. The entire ensemble worked seamlessly, creating a magical world that delighted the audience.
