The two seniors were crowned before classmates, families and the Highlander community during Friday night’s Homecoming celebration.

SHENANDOAH, Texas — The Woodlands High School seniors Lillie McMullin and Max Mitchell were crowned the school’s 2026 Homecoming Queen and King during halftime of the Highlanders’ football game against Caney Creek High School on Friday, Sept. 25, at Woodforest Bank Stadium.

With members of the Homecoming Court, classmates and families gathered on the field and in the stands, McMullin and Mitchell received their crowns from The Woodlands High School main campus principal Dennis Muehsler.

McMullin is a member of The Woodlands High School Highsteppers, National Honor Society and Rho Kappa and serves as president of the Highsteppers’ social committee. After graduation, she plans to attend Auburn University, major in genetics, minor in biomedical sciences and follow a pre-med track.

Mitchell is a senior outside linebacker for The Woodlands Highlanders football team. After graduation, he plans to attend Texas A&M University and major in mechanical engineering.

Both seniors were escorted by their parents during the Homecoming Court presentation, adding a family moment to one of the school year’s traditional celebrations.

For McMullin and Mitchell, the crowning recognized two seniors who have been involved in different parts of campus life — from the Highsteppers and student organizations to Highlander football — while giving their classmates another reason to celebrate during Homecoming weekend.
