WOODLANDS GIRLS RECLAIM TEXAS 6A HIGH SCHOOL STATE TITLE; TEAM EFFORT LEADS TO VICTORY

The Woodlands High School girls swim team showcases depth and talent to secure the state championship.



The Woodlands High School girls' swim team reclaimed the Texas 6A State Championship title on February 18 in Austin, showcasing their depth and talent across various events.


The Woodlands High School girls' swim team made a triumphant return to the top of Texas high school swimming by securing the Texas 6A State Championship title with a record-breaking 300 points, outscoring their closest competitor, Southlake Carroll, by 16 points. The team's victory was highlighted by a win in the 200 free relay, with Sophia Cristal, Chloe Corbin, Mary Nordmann, and Zoe Nordmann combining for a time of 1:33.67, nearly breaking the state record.


The Highlanders showcased their depth with top-three finishes in the other relays and strong individual performances across the board. Senior Zoe Nordmann led the charge in the 500 freestyle with a silver medal performance, while junior Evlin Riederer claimed silver in the 100 breaststroke, demonstrating the team's strength in both sprint and distance events.

The victory marked the 11th state title for The Woodlands' girls program, a testament to the team's enduring legacy in Texas high school swimming.


The Woodlands girls' swim team's dominant performance at the UIL Class 6A state swimming and diving championships not only secured their sixth State Title but also reaffirmed their status as a powerhouse in Texas high school swimming. With a blend of experienced seniors and rising underclassmen, the team's future looks bright as they aim to continue their winning tradition.
