Caney Creek High School Athletes Make 2024 College Commitments Official

Signing Day highlights a diverse group of sports talents


Wednesday, April 24, 2024, 10:00 AM - It was a day of joy and pride at Caney Creek High School as ten outstanding student-athletes signed letters of intent, paving their way to continue both their academic and athletic careers at universities across the nation.



The main gymnasium at Caney Creek High School buzzed with excitement and anticipation on Wednesday morning as the community gathered to support its young stars on Spring Signing Day 2024. Athletic Director Kendall Hineman opened the ceremony, warmly welcoming students, families, and friends, setting the tone for a day of celebration.


Today is about much more than signings; it's a celebration of hard work, dreams realized, and the bright futures of our student-athletes.

As each student-athlete was called to the signing table, they signed their letters of intent, officially committing to their chosen universities. The signings were followed by photo sessions where each athlete was joined by the coaches of their sport, Coach Hineman and Principal Dr. Terri Benson, capturing these significant moments together.


The respective sports coaches shared commendations of the athletes' accomplishments, highlighting their hard work and dedication. Coach Janel Jackson added a personal touch, discussing each student’s academic journey and their chosen universities:


The athletes who made their commitments are:

  • Timothy Palmer (cheerleading) and Kaylee Davis (cheerleading) - Sam Houston State University

  • Isaiah Sanchez (cheerleading) - Texas State University

  • Kameron Dougay (cheerleading) - University of Oklahoma

  • Jaiden Graves (cheerleading) - University of Texas at San Antonio

  • McKenzie Sparta (cheerleading) and Annalisa Chapa (cheerleading) - University of Texas Permian Basin

  • Jordan Jahn (soccer) - Southwestern Assemblies of God University

  • Hector Rodriguez (football) - Oklahoma Panhandle State University

  • Mario Leon Partillo (soccer) - Texas A&M University–Texarkana


After all the athletes had signed, Principal Dr. Terri Benson concluded the ceremony with heartfelt words of encouragement, expressing pride in the students' achievements and best wishes for their futures.


Today's Signing Day was not only a celebration of athletic and academic commitments but also a reaffirmation of the supportive and encouraging environment fostered by Caney Creek High School. It was a day that underscored the potential and bright futures of these promising young individuals.
